Guilford Technical Community College (GTCC) is a public two-year institution of higher education that serves the citizens of Guilford County, North Carolina. GTCC is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges to award associate degrees, diplomas, and certificates. The college’s mission is “to provide accessible, high quality education, training, and support services to meet the diverse needs of our students, business and industry, and community.”
GTCC was established in 1958 as the Greensboro Area Technical Institute. The name was changed to Guilford Technical Institute in 1963 and then to Guilford Technical Community College in 1986. The college is governed by a nine-member Board of Trustees appointed by the Guilford County Board of Commissioners.
GTCC offers over 80 programs of study leading to associate degrees, diplomas, and certificates. The most popular programs are in the areas of business, health sciences, and engineering technologies. GTCC also offers a wide variety of continuing education and workforce development courses and programs.
GTCC has four campuses located in Greensboro, High Point, Jamestown, and Kernersville. The college also has several off-campus instructional sites. The main campus is located on a 150-acre site in northwest Greensboro. The High Point campus is located on a 50-acre site in southwest High Point. The Jamestown campus is located on a 40-acre site in northeast Guilford County. The Kernersville campus is located on a 10-acre site in northwest Forsyth County.
GTCC is a member of the North Carolina Community College System and the American Association of Community Colleges.
The college is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges to award associate degrees. GTCC is also accredited by the following agencies:
