Eastern Gateway Community College (EGCC) is a public community college in Steubenville, Ohio. It is part of the Ohio Community College System. The college offers associate degrees and certificate programs in a variety of fields, as well as non-credit courses and adult education programs.
EGCC was founded in 1961 as the Jefferson County Technical Institute. It became a community college in 1963 and was renamed Eastern Gateway Community College in 1965. The college has undergone several expansions and renovations over the years, most recently in 2010.
EGCC is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. It is home to a number of student organizations, including the Student Government Association, Phi Theta Kappa, and the National Society of Leadership and Success.
The college has an active athletics program, with teams competing in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA). The EGCC Pioneers offer a variety of sports, including baseball, basketball, cross country, golf, and track and field.
