Catawba Valley Community College (CVCC) is a public, two-year community college located in Hickory, North Carolina. CVCC serves Catawba, Alexander, Caldwell, Burke, and Lincoln counties. The college offers over 50 degree and certificate programs, as well as continuing education and workforce development opportunities.

CVCC was established in 1965 and is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges. The college’s main campus is located on a 106-acre (43 ha) site in Hickory, with additional campuses in Newton and Conover. CVCC is a member of the North Carolina Community College System.

The college’s academic programs are organized into five divisions: Arts and Sciences, Business and Public Services, Health Sciences, Industrial and Engineering Technologies, and University Transfer. CVCC also offers a number of non-credit, continuing education, and workforce development programs.

CVCC’s athletics teams are known as the Red Hawks. The college fields teams in men’s and women’s basketball, baseball, softball, and volleyball. CVCC is a member of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) and the Region X of the NJCAA.

The college’s main campus in Hickory includes a library, computer labs, and classrooms. The Newton campus includes a library, computer labs, and classrooms. The Conover campus includes a library, computer labs, and classrooms.

CVCC is governed by a nine-member Board of Trustees, all of whom are appointed by the North Carolina General Assembly. The college’s current president is Dr. Garrett Hinshaw.
