Admission Requirements
Cape Fear Community College (CFCC) is a public, two-year institution serving New Hanover, Brunswick, and Pender counties in southeastern North Carolina. The college is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges to award associate degrees, diplomas, and certificates.
CFCC has an open-door admissions policy, meaning that any student who has a high school diploma or equivalent is welcome to enroll. However, some programs may have additional requirements, and students are encouraged to meet with an admissions counselor to discuss their educational goals.
Once students have been accepted to CFCC, they will need to complete a placement test to determine their course level in English and math. Placement test scores, along with high school GPA and SAT/ACT scores (if available), will be used to place students in the appropriate level courses. Students who do not place into college-level English or math will be required to take developmental courses before they can take credit-bearing courses.
CFCC offers a variety of financial aid options to help students pay for college, including grants, loans, and scholarships. Students are encouraged to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to determine their eligibility for aid.
Whether you are a recent high school graduate or an adult learner, CFCC is here to help you achieve your educational goals. We hope you will take advantage of all that we have to offer and join us in making a difference in our community!
