Ashland Community and Technical College (Ashland, Kentucky) is a public, two-year institution of higher education and the largest of the 16 colleges in the Kentucky Community and Technical College System. The college offers associate degrees, diplomas, and certificates in more than 50 academic and technical programs. The college also provides adult education, continuing education, and workforce development programs.

Ashland Community and Technical College was established in 1938 as the Ashland Vocational School. The school was created to provide training in the skilled trades for the citizens of Ashland and the surrounding area. In 1963, the school was renamed the Ashland Area Technical Institute and began offering associate degree programs. In 1968, the institute became part of the newly created Kentucky Community College System. In 2006, the college was renamed Ashland Community and Technical College.

The college is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges. The college’s programs are accredited by national and professional organizations, including the National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation, the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence, the American Dental Association, the National League for Nursing, and the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs.

The college’s main campus is located on a 100-acre (40-hectare) site in Ashland, Kentucky. The campus includes 19 buildings, including a library, a bookstore, a wellness center, and a childcare center. The college also operates campuses in Boyd and Greenup Counties and a center in Carter County.

Ashland Community and Technical College enrolls more than 5,000 students in credit and non-credit programs. The college’s student body is diverse, with students from a variety of backgrounds and ages. The college offers a variety of services and programs to support students, including academic advising, tutoring, and career services.
