Admission Requirements
Aiken Technical College is committed to providing accessible, high-quality education and training opportunities that enhance the lives of individuals, families, and our community. The College offers programs in university transfer, health sciences, technical and occupational fields, and general education.
Admission to Aiken Technical College is open to any individual who has a high school diploma or equivalent, is at least 18 years old, and can benefit from the College’s programs and services. The College does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, creed, religion, sex, age, national origin, disability, or veteran status in its admission policies, educational programs, or employment practices.
Individuals who wish to enroll in credit courses must complete an application for admission and submit all required transcripts and test scores. Applicants who have not completed high school or who have not taken the General Educational Development (GED) test must complete the College Placement Test prior to enrolling in credit courses.
The College Placement Test is used to determine a student’s readiness for English and mathematics courses. The test is not required for admission to the College, but is required for placement into English and mathematics courses. The test is offered at no charge to the student on a walk-in basis during regular testing hours.
Students who are not sure which program or courses to take may schedule an appointment with a counselor or advisor. Counselors and advisors are available to assist students with program and course selection, career exploration, and other services.
