The University of Washington-Tacoma Campus is a public research university located in Tacoma, Washington, United States. It is one of three campuses of the University of Washington system and is part of the University of Washington Tacoma Linkage. The campus has an annual enrollment of over 4,500 students. The university is situated on a 52-acre campus on Tacoma's waterfront, and is adjacent to the Museum of Glass, the Washington State History Museum, and the Tacoma Art Museum. The campus is served by two interurban transit lines and is within walking distance of the Tacoma Dome Station and the Tacoma Mall.
The University of Washington-Tacoma Campus was founded in 1990 as a two-year branch campus of the University of Washington. The campus initially offered only upper-division and graduate level coursework. In 1998, the campus expanded to include its first freshman and sophomore class, and in 2006, the campus moved to its current 52-acre campus on Tacoma's waterfront. The campus is accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities.
The University of Washington-Tacoma Campus offers bachelor's degrees in business administration, computer science, engineering, information technology, and interdisciplinary arts and sciences. The campus also offers master's degrees in business administration, computer science, engineering, information technology, interdisciplinary arts and sciences, and urban planning and development. The campus is home to the Milgard School of Business, the School of Engineering and Technology, the School of Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences, and the Urban Studies Program.
