The University of Tulsa (TU) is a private research university in Tulsa, Oklahoma, United States. Founded in 1894 by the Presbyterian Church, the university has an enrollment of 4,632 students as of Fall 2019. The university is ranked as the 129th best national university in the United States by U.S. News & World Report in its 2020 rankings. It is also included in the top tier of the "Best Value Schools" list compiled by U.S. News & World Report, which ranked TU as the 67th best value national university in the United States in 2020. The Carnegie Foundation classifies TU as a research university with "high research activity."
TU offers over 130 undergraduate programs and over 60 graduate programs through its 11 schools and colleges. The university is home to the College of Law, the Henry Kendall College of Arts and Sciences, the Oxley College of Health Sciences, the Collins College of Business, the Tandy School of Computer Science, the School of Education, the College of Engineering and Natural Sciences, the College of Architecture and Design, the Rose State College of Arts and Sciences at TU, and the Graduate School. The university also operates the Lorton Performance Center, which hosts various musical and theatrical performances, and the TU School of Music.
The university is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. It is also a member of the Association of American Universities, the Association of Presbyterian Colleges and Universities, and the Oklahoma Space Grant Consortium.
