The University of Southern Indiana (USI) is a public university located just outside Evansville, Indiana. It was founded in 1965 and offers more than 130 undergraduate and graduate programs in a wide variety of fields. USI is a member of the Kentucky-Indiana-Ohio Consortium for Higher Education and is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. The university has an enrollment of over 11,000 students, making it the fourth largest public university in Indiana.

USI was founded in 1965 as a two-year public university. The school was originally known as Indiana State University-Evansville, but became independent from Indiana State University in 1985 and took on its current name. The university is located on a 1,400-acre (5.7 km2) campus just outside Evansville, in the northwest corner of the state. The school offers a wide variety of undergraduate and graduate programs, as well as a number of professional degrees.

USI is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and is a member of the Kentucky-Indiana-Ohio Consortium for Higher Education. The university has an enrollment of over 11,000 students, making it the fourth largest public university in Indiana. The school's athletic teams compete in the NCAA Division II Great Lakes Valley Conference.

USI has a number of notable alumni, including former Indiana governor Mitch Daniels, former U.S. senator Richard Lugar, and former NFL quarterback David Woodley.
