The University of Pikeville is located in Pikeville, Kentucky, and is a private, liberal arts university affiliated with the Presbyterian Church (USA). It was founded in 1889 as the Pikeville College Academy, and became a four-year institution in 1947. The university offers over 50 undergraduate majors, as well as master's degrees in business, education, and nursing, and a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine.
