The University of Minnesota Morris (UMM) is a public liberal arts college in Morris, Minnesota. It is part of the University of Minnesota system and is one of five campuses within the system. The university is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. UMM was founded in 1960 as a two-year college and became a four-year institution in 1963. The university is known for its commitment to environmental sustainability and is a designated "Green College" by the Princeton Review. The university's 1,500 students are enrolled in over 30 undergraduate majors and minors. The most popular majors at UMM include Biology, Psychology, and English. The university is home to a number of student organizations and clubs, including the Student Senate, the Morris Environmental Group, and the Student Activities Board. The Morris campus is also home to a number of NCAA Division III athletic teams, known as the Cougars.
