The University of La Verne is a private university in La Verne, California. Founded in 1891, the university is composed of the main campus in La Verne, and several satellite campuses across Southern California. The university offers a wide variety of undergraduate and graduate programs, and is organized into eight colleges: the College of Arts and Sciences, the College of Business and Public Management, the College of Education and Organizational Studies, the College of Law, the College of Nursing and Health Sciences, the College of Pharmacy, the College of Theology, and the University College.

The University of La Verne was founded in 1891 as Lordsburg College by members of the Church of the Brethren. The college was originally located in the small town of Lordsburg, California, but moved to its current location in La Verne in 1904. The university is named after the city of La Verne, which was named after Italian immigrant and winemaker Francesco Saverio Verne.

The University of La Verne is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. The university is also a member of the National Association of Independent Colleges and Universities, and the Association of Independent California Colleges and Universities.
