The University of Hawaii Maui College is a public, co-educational college located in Kahului, Hawaii, on the island of Maui. It is one of ten campuses of the University of Hawaii system. The college offers associate's degrees and certificate programs in various liberal arts, business, and technical areas. The campus is situated on 54 acres of land near the Kahului Airport and the Maui Memorial Medical Center.
The University of Hawaii Maui College was established in 1965 as the Maui Vocational Technical Education Center. The center was created to provide vocational and technical training to the residents of Maui County. In 1970, the center was renamed Maui Community College. The college began offering associate's degrees in 1974. In 1979, the college was renamed Maui Campus of Hawaii Community College. In 1989, the college was renamed Maui Community College. In 1991, the college was renamed Maui Campus of Hawaii Community College. In 2001, the college was renamed University of Hawaii Maui College.
The University of Hawaii Maui College is accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. The college is also accredited by the Hawaii State Board of Education.
The University of Hawaii Maui College offers a variety of associate's degrees and certificate programs. The college also offers a variety of continuing education and distance learning opportunities.
