Shenandoah University is a comprehensive university located in Winchester, Virginia in the United States. The university offers a broad range of undergraduate and graduate programs in the liberal arts, sciences, business, education, music, theatre, and health professions. Founded in 1875 by Dr. George F. Shultz, Shenandoah was the first private, coeducational, liberal arts college in Virginia. Shenandoah University's athletics teams are known as the Hornets. The university is a member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III and the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC). The university offers a variety of varsity and intramural sports, including baseball, basketball, cross country, field hockey, football, golf, lacrosse, soccer, softball, tennis, track and field, and volleyball.
