SUNY College of Technology at Delhi was founded in 1913 as the Delhi School of Agriculture. The school was created in response to the need for more agricultural education in the state of New York. The school was originally a two-year institution, but it began to offer four-year degrees in agriculture in the 1920s. In the 1930s, the school began to offer degrees in other fields, such as home economics and business. In the 1950s, the school's name was changed to the Delhi State College of Agriculture and Technology. In the 1960s, the college began to offer degrees in engineering and other technical fields. In the 1970s, the college's name was changed to the SUNY College of Technology at Delhi.
