Rider University is a comprehensive, coeducational private university located atop the Lawrenceville-Princeton border in Lawrenceville, New Jersey, United States. The university is organized into five academic units, the College of Liberal Arts, Sciences, and Education; the School of Business Administration; the School of Fine and Performing Arts; the School of Health Sciences and Education; and the Westminster College of the Arts. Rider has been ranked by The Princeton Review as one of the Best Northeastern Colleges. It is also included in Loren Pope's book Colleges That Change Lives. Rider was founded in 1865 as the Trenton Business College in Trenton, New Jersey. In addition to its Lawrenceville campus, Rider operates a corporate learning center in Hamilton, New Jersey. The Lawrenceville campus is home to the Fine Arts Department and the Westminster Choir College. The Westminster campus is also home to the Princeton Artistic and Historical Society. The university is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools.
