Purdue University-Main Campus is a public university in West Lafayette, Indiana and is the flagship campus of the Purdue University system. The university was founded in 1869 after Lafayette businessman John Purdue donated land and money to establish a college of science, technology, and agriculture in his name. Purdue is a member of the Big Ten Conference and is the largest university in Indiana, with an enrollment of over 43,000 students. The university is also home to the Purdue Boilermakers, a Division I athletic program.

Purdue University-Main Campus is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. The university offers over 200 undergraduate majors and over 70 graduate programs. Purdue is divided into 11 colleges and schools, including the College of Agriculture, the College of Engineering, the College of Liberal Arts, and the Krannert School of Management. Purdue is also home to a number of research centers and institutes, such as the Bindley Bioscience Center, the Birck Nanotechnology Center, and the Discovery Park.

Purdue University-Main Campus was ranked as the 21st best public university in the United States by U.S. News & World Report in 2020. The university is also ranked as the 75th best university in the world by Times Higher Education.
