Founded in 1899, Northern Arizona University is a public research university located in Flagstaff, Arizona. The university offers more than 155 undergraduate and graduate degree programs, including online and distance learning options. NAU is one of the three public universities in Arizona and is a member of the Arizona Board of Regents. The university is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission.

NAU has an enrollment of more than 31,000 students, with over 20,000 of those students being undergraduates. The student-to-faculty ratio is 20-to-1, and the average class size is 26 students. The university offers a variety of undergraduate and graduate degree programs, as well as online and distance learning options.

NAU is home to six colleges and schools, including the College of Arts and Letters, the W. A. Franke College of Business, the College of Education, the College of Engineering, Forestry, and Natural Sciences, the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences, and the Graduate College.

The university offers a variety of student services and resources, including academic advising, career services, counseling and psychological services, disability services, international student services, library services, and writing center services. NAU also has a variety of clubs and organizations, as well as intramural and club sports.

The university is located on 740 acres in Flagstaff, Arizona, at an elevation of 7,000 feet. The campus features over 150 buildings, including residence halls, academic buildings, and athletic facilities. NAU also has a satellite campus in Yuma, Arizona.
