Maharishi International University (MIU) is a non-profit, accredited university located in Fairfield, Iowa, United States. The university was founded in 1973 by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi and offers bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees in the areas of business, communication, computer science, economics, education, engineering, environmental studies, Maharishi Vedic Science, Maharishi Ayurveda, Maharishi Vedic Management, mathematics, modern management, natural law, neuroscience, physiology, and sustainable living. The university is home to the Global Country of World Peace, an organization founded by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi that is dedicated to creating world peace. MIU is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and is a member of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.
