Founded in 1826, Lafayette College is a private liberal arts college located in Easton, Pennsylvania. The school is named for the Marquis de Lafayette, a French general who fought in the American Revolutionary War. Lafayette College is one of the oldest colleges in the United States and the ninth oldest in the country. The school is a member of the Patriot League, an athletic conference that competes in NCAA Division I.
Lafayette offers bachelor's degrees in over 50 majors and minors. The school has a student-to-faculty ratio of 11:1 and an average class size of 19 students. Lafayette's campus is located on College Hill, which is home to a variety of academic, administrative, and residential buildings. The school's campus is also home to several historical landmarks, including the Statue of Liberty, which was a gift from the people of France to the United States.

Lafayette's men's basketball team has won two national championships, in 1954 and 1957. The school's football team has won one national championship, in 1926.
