Admission Requirements

The Inter American University of Puerto Rico-Barranquitas is a private, coeducational institution of higher learning located in the municipality of Barranquitas, Puerto Rico. The University is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education. It offers undergraduate and graduate programs in a variety of disciplines, including business, education, engineering, and nursing.

Admission to the University is open to all qualified students who meet the general admission requirements of the University, which include the following:

1. A completed application form, including a non-refundable application fee of $50 for undergraduate students and $75 for graduate students.

2. Official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended, sent directly from the institutions to the University.

3. A minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale for undergraduate students, or a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale for graduate students.

4. A minimum TOEFL score of 500 for undergraduate students whose native language is not English, or a minimum TOEFL score of 600 for graduate students whose native language is not English.

5. A completed Financial Aid form, if applicable.

6. A completed Health form, including proof of immunization against measles, mumps, and rubella.

7. A completed Housing form, if applicable.

8. An official copy of the student’s high school diploma or equivalent, if applicable.

9. An official copy of the student’s college/university diploma, if applicable.

10. Any additional documents required by the specific academic program to which the student is applying.
