Hope College is a private, four-year liberal arts college located in Holland, Michigan, United States. The college was founded in 1866 by the Rev. A.C. Van Raalte, a Dutch Reformed minister. It is the oldest college in the state of Michigan and has been affiliated with the Reformed Church in America since 1866. The college's campus is located in the city of Holland on the west side of the state. The college offers a variety of undergraduate programs, including arts and sciences, business, education, engineering, music, and nursing. In addition to its undergraduate programs, Hope College also offers a number of graduate programs.
Hope College is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and is a member of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. The college is also a member of the Great Lakes Colleges Association and the Michigan Colleges Alliance. Hope College is ranked as one of the top liberal arts colleges in the country by U.S. News & World Report.
