Founded in 1937, Hellenic College-Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology is the oldest and largest accredited Orthodox Christian seminary in North America. Located in Brookline, Massachusetts, just outside of Boston, the school offers a variety of programs leading to the Master of Divinity, Master of Theology, and Doctor of Ministry degrees, as well as a Certificate in Orthodox Studies.
The school's mission is to prepare men and women to serve the Orthodox Church as priests, deacons, religious educators, and other ministry leaders. Hellenic College-Holy Cross is committed to providing a quality Orthodox Christian education that is firmly grounded in the Holy Scriptures, the Holy Tradition of the Church, and the Patristic and Ecumenical Councils.
The school's curriculum is designed to provide students with a solid foundation in the Orthodox Christian faith, as well as the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively serve the Church. In addition to coursework in theology, students are required to take courses in Church history, liturgics, and pastoral care.
Hellenic College-Holy Cross also offers a number of extracurricular activities and programs, including the opportunity to participate in an international study abroad program, internships, and service-learning projects. The school's campus is home to a number of Orthodox Christian organizations and ministries, including the Office of Vocation and Ministry, the St. Photios Shrine, and the Greek Orthodox Metropolis of Boston.
Hellenic College-Holy Cross is accredited by the Commission on Accrediting of the Association of Theological Schools in the United States and Canada.
