Founded in 1908, Georgian Court University is a private, coeducational university located in Lakewood, New Jersey, United States. The university is affiliated with the Roman Catholic Diocese of Trenton. Georgian Court University is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education.

The university offers more than 50 undergraduate and graduate programs, as well as doctoral programs in educational leadership and psychology. The university's main campus covers 65 acres (26 ha) and includes Lake Carasaljo, an 84-acre (34 ha) lake.

Georgian Court University was founded in 1908 by the Sisters of Mercy as a women's college. The college was named after Georgian Court, the former country estate of George Jay Gould I in Lakewood Township. The estate was donated to the Sisters of Mercy by Mrs. Helen Gould Shepard in 1904. The college held its first classes in September 1908 with an initial enrollment of 96 students.

The college was granted university status in September 2001 by the New Jersey Commission on Higher Education, and the name was changed to Georgian Court University. The university's first doctoral program, in educational leadership, was introduced in 2007.

Georgian Court University is organized into five schools: the School of Arts and Sciences, the School of Business, the School of Education, the School of Nursing and Health Professions, and the School of Social Work. The university offers more than 50 undergraduate and graduate programs, as well as doctoral programs in educational leadership and psychology.

The university's main campus covers 65 acres (26 ha) and includes Lake Carasaljo, an 84-acre (34 ha) lake. The campus is located in the city of Lakewood, in Ocean County, New Jersey, United States. The campus is adjacent to the New Jersey Transit's North Jersey Coast Line, which provides rail service to New York City and Philadelphia.

The university's athletic teams compete in the National Collegiate Athletic Association's Division III. The university is a member of the Garden State Athletic Conference. The university's mascot is the Lion, and its colors are blue and gold.
