Franklin College is a small, private, liberal arts college located in the town of Franklin, Indiana, United States. The college was founded in 1834 and is affiliated with the Presbyterian Church (USA). Franklin College is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. The college offers bachelor's degrees in over 50 majors and concentrations, and is home to the first chapter of Phi Beta Kappa in Indiana. The college has an enrollment of approximately 1,200 students, most of whom live on the college's 150-acre (61 ha) campus. The campus includes 17 buildings, all of which are connected by a system of underground tunnels. The college is known for its close-knit community, and for its dedication to service-learning and experiential education. Franklin College has been ranked by U.S. News & World Report as one of the top 100 liberal arts colleges in the country.
