Dillard University is a private, historically black university in New Orleans, Louisiana. Founded in 1869 by a group of African-American Baptist ministers and educators, it is the oldest HBCU in Louisiana. The university is a member of the United Negro College Fund.

Dillard University is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. The university offers bachelor's degrees in liberal arts, business, sciences, education, and nursing. The university is also home to the New Orleans Jazz Orchestra, the Dillard University Choir, and the Dillard University Theatre.

The campus of Dillard University is located on a 32-acre (13 ha) site in the historic Gentilly neighborhood of New Orleans. The campus is home to several buildings, including the Administration Building, the Student Center, the Library, the Chapel, and the New Orleans Jazz Orchestra Center.
