Dillard University is a private, historically black university in New Orleans, Louisiana. Founded in 1869 by a group of African-American Baptist ministers and educators, it is the oldest HBCU in Louisiana. The university is a member of the United Negro College Fund.
Dillard University is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. The university offers bachelor's degrees in liberal arts, business, sciences, education, and nursing. The university is also home to the New Orleans Jazz Orchestra, the Dillard University Choir, and the Dillard University Theatre.
