Claflin University is a private, coeducational, historically black university located in Orangeburg, South Carolina, United States. Founded in 1869 by Methodist missionaries, the university is one of the oldest historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs) in the United States. It offers bachelor's and master's degrees in the liberal arts, sciences, and business. The university is a member of the Thurgood Marshall College Fund.

The campus of Claflin University is located on a picturesque 110-acre site in the historic city of Orangeburg, South Carolina. The campus is situated in a quiet, residential area and is just a short walk from the city's business and shopping district.

Claflin University is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges to award bachelor's and master's degrees.
