Chamberlain University is a private, non-profit institution that specializes in nursing and health care education. Chamberlain University was founded in 1889 as Deaconess Hospital School of Nursing in St. Louis, Missouri. The school was established to meet the need for qualified nurses in the growing field of health care. The school expanded over the years, and in 1925, the Deaconess Hospital School of Nursing became the Chamberlain College of Nursing. The college continued to grow, and in 1974, it became a part of the DeVry Institute of Technology. In 2002, the college became an independent institution and was renamed Chamberlain College of Nursing.
Chamberlain University-Michigan offers a variety of nursing and health care programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels. The university’s undergraduate programs include the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), the RN to BSN program, and the LPN to BSN program. The university’s graduate programs include the Master of Science in Nursing (MSN), the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP), and the PhD in Nursing.
Chamberlain University-Michigan is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and is a member of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. The university’s nursing programs are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
