Canisius College is a private Jesuit university in Buffalo, New York. Canisius offers more than 100 undergraduate and 70 graduate programs. Canisius was founded in 1870 by the Society of Jesus and was the first college in the Buffalo area. The college's campus is located on Main Street in Buffalo's University Heights neighborhood. The campus is home to the Horace H. Rackham Memorial Library, which houses more than 400,000 volumes.
Canisius is a member of the Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities and the Colleges of the Atlantic Coast Conference. The college fields teams in 14 NCAA Division I sports and is a charter member of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference.
