Admission Requirements
Calvin University is a private, Christian university located in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The school was founded in 1876 by the Christian Reformed Church and is named after 16th-century Protestant Reformer John Calvin. The university enrolls approximately 4,000 students from over 40 countries and all 50 states.
The admissions process at Calvin University is designed to help students and families discern whether Calvin is the right fit for them. The admissions team is committed to providing personal attention and guidance throughout the process.
There are three main factors that the admissions team looks at when making admission decisions: academic preparedness, spiritual preparedness, and personal fit.
Academic preparedness is demonstrated through a student's high school transcript, standardized test scores, and/or college coursework. The admissions team also looks at a student's involvement in extracurricular activities, leadership experiences, and service work.
Spiritual preparedness is demonstrated through a student's involvement in their church or faith community, as well as their personal faith journey. The admissions team also looks at a student's understanding of and commitment to the Reformed Christian faith.
Personal fit is demonstrated through a student's essays, letters of recommendation, and interview. The admissions team is looking for students who are excited about the opportunity to learn and grow at Calvin University.
To be eligible for admission to Calvin University, students must have a high school diploma or equivalent. They must also submit an application, transcripts, standardized test scores, and a non-refundable application fee.
Calvin University offers a variety of scholarships and financial aid options to help make college affordable for all students. For more information about admission requirements and the admissions process, please visit the Calvin University website.
