California State University-Channel Islands (CSUCI) is a public university in Ventura County, California. The university was founded in 2002, making it the 23rd campus of the California State University system. The university is located on the site of the former Camarillo State Mental Hospital.

CSUCI offers bachelor's degrees in 26 different fields of study, as well as 11 master's degrees and 2 teaching credentials. The university is organized into four colleges: the College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences; the College of Business and Economics; the College of Education; and the College of Science and Engineering.

CSUCI is known for its commitment to environmental sustainability, and was the first university in the world to achieve Platinum-level status in the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) program. The university has also been recognized as a "Tree Campus USA" by the Arbor Day Foundation.

CSUCI is located in Ventura County, about 50 miles northwest of Los Angeles. The university is situated on a bluff overlooking the Pacific Ocean, and is adjacent to the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area.
