Brenau University is a comprehensive, co-educational university located in Gainesville, Georgia, United States, with over 3,500 students enrolled. The university offers undergraduate and graduate degrees, as well as professional programs in business, education, nursing, and health sciences. Brenau University is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges to award bachelor's and master's degrees. The university is also a member of the University System of Georgia.

Founded in 1878 as a women's college, Brenau University is one of the oldest institutions of higher education in Georgia. The university was founded by Barbara Woodrow and Emma Gilbert, two women who shared a vision for providing educational opportunities for women. In 1900, the name of the school was changed to Brenau College, and in 1913, the college was granted a charter to award degrees. In 1971, Brenau College became a coeducational institution and began admitting men. In 1992, the college was renamed Brenau University.

Jones Student Union, a multi-purpose facility that houses a food court, bookstore, and student organizations. The North Georgia campus is home to the Gainesville campus of Brenau University.
