Bloomfield College is a small, private, not-for-profit, coeducational institution of higher learning located in Bloomfield, New Jersey. The College was founded in 1868 by a group of local businessmen as the Bloomfield Academy. In 1922, the Academy became a junior college and began offering two-year programs leading to an Associate in Arts degree. In 1955, the College moved to its current location on Broad Street and began offering four-year programs leading to a Bachelor of Arts degree. The College is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education.
Bloomfield College offers a liberal arts curriculum with over 50 majors and concentrations. The College also offers a number of pre-professional programs, including pre-law, pre-med, and pre-dental. In addition to its undergraduate programs, the College offers a Master of Arts in Counseling and a Master of Education in Educational Leadership.
