Bard College is a private liberal arts college in New York State's Hudson Valley region. Founded in 1860, Bard is a four-year institution with a highly selective admissions process. Students can pursue a bachelor of arts, a bachelor of science, or a bachelor of fine arts degree. Bard also offers a number of dual degree programs in partnership with other institutions.

The college's 1,000-acre campus is located in the town of Annandale-on-Hudson, about 90 minutes north of New York City. Bard's rigorous academic program features small classes, close relationships with faculty, and a focus on critical thinking and writing skills. The college also places a strong emphasis on the arts, and all students are required to take courses in the arts and humanities.

Bard students have the opportunity to study abroad, participate in internships and service learning projects, and conduct original research. The college also offers a number of extracurricular activities, including more than 100 student organizations.
