Atlanta Metropolitan State College (AMSC) is a public, four-year institution of higher education located in the historic West End of Atlanta, Georgia, United States. It is part of the University System of Georgia and is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. The college was founded in 1974 as Atlanta Junior College and became Atlanta Metropolitan College in 1991. In July 2013, the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia approved the name change to Atlanta Metropolitan State College.
The mission of Atlanta Metropolitan State College is to provide accessible, high quality and affordable educational opportunities to a diverse population of traditional and non-traditional students who seek to enrich their lives and expand their knowledge and skills.
