Admission Requirements
Arizona School of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (ASAOM) offers a Master of Science in Traditional Chinese Medicine (MSTCM) and a Doctor of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (DAOM) program.
The MSTCM program is a four-year program that includes didactic coursework, clinical training, and a research thesis. The program is designed to prepare students for licensure as acupuncturists and to sit for the national board exams.
The DAOM program is a three-year program that includes didactic coursework, clinical training, and a research thesis. The program is designed to prepare students for licensure as acupuncturists and to sit for the national board exams.
ASAOM requires that all applicants have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution. In addition, applicants must have completed a minimum of 30 semester hours of study in the following areas:
• Biology: two semesters with labs
• Chemistry: two semesters with labs
• Psychology: one semester
• Sociology: one semester
• English Composition: one semester
• Humanities: three semester hours
Preference will be given to applicants who have completed a master’s degree or higher.
ASAOM also requires that all applicants submit official transcripts, three letters of recommendation, a personal essay, and a resume.
International students are required to submit additional materials, including proof of English proficiency, financial documentation, and a copy of their passport.
