Alvernia University is a private Franciscan university located in Reading, Pennsylvania. The university was founded in 1958 by the Order of Friars Minor. Alvernia offers more than 50 undergraduate and graduate programs. The university is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education.

The campus consists of 28 buildings, including the Francis Hall Administration Building, the Francis Hall Classroom Building, the Alvernia University Center, the Francis Hall Library, and the Francis Hall Student Center. The university also has a campus in Philadelphia, which is home to the Alvernia University School of Law.
