Academy College is a private college located in downtown Minneapolis, Minnesota. The college offers two-year Associate of Arts and Associate of Science degrees, as well as one- and two-year diploma programs in a variety of career fields.
Academy College was founded in 1936 by Dr. George W. Pillsbury, a former president of the Pillsbury Company. The college was originally located in the Pillsbury Mansion on Nicollet Island in Minneapolis. In its early years, the college offered business and secretarial courses.
In the 1950s, the college began to expand its programs and moved to its current location on Hennepin Avenue. Today, Academy College offers over 30 programs in a variety of career fields, including business, healthcare, IT, and more.
The college is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and is a member of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. Academy College is also a member of the Minnesota Private College Council.
