Yeshiva Gedolah Kesser Torah is a highly respected yeshiva located in the heart of Jerusalem. The yeshiva was founded in 1873 by Rabbi Yitzchak Elchanan Spector, a leading Talmudic scholar and Rabbi of Kovno, Lithuania. Rabbi Spector was a strong advocate of Torah study and felt that the best way to ensure the future of Judaism was to provide young men with a solid grounding in the Talmud and other Jewish texts. The yeshiva has been extremely successful in its mission, and today it is one of the most respected institutions of Jewish learning in the world. The yeshiva attracts students from all over the world, and its graduates have gone on to become some of the most prominent rabbis and Jewish scholars in the world.
