The University of Illinois Springfield is a public university in Springfield, Illinois. The university was established in 1969 as Sangamon State University, and became a part of the University of Illinois system in 1995. The university offers bachelor's and master's degrees in a variety of disciplines, and is home to the Illinois State Capitol and the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum.

The University of Illinois Springfield is located on the east side of Springfield, Illinois. The campus is situated on 725 acres (293 ha) of land, and includes a lake and a nature preserve. The university is home to the Illinois State Capitol, the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum, and the Illinois State Museum.

The university offers a variety of undergraduate and graduate degrees. Bachelor's degrees are offered in arts and sciences, business, education, public administration, and social work. Master's degrees are offered in arts and sciences, business, education, public administration, social work, and library and information science. The university also offers a doctorate in public administration.

The University of Illinois Springfield is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. The university's athletic teams compete in the NCAA Division II.
