The University of Houston-Victoria (UHV) is a four-year state university located in Victoria, Texas. The university is part of the University of Houston System. UHV offers more than 40 undergraduate and graduate programs. The university has an enrollment of more than 4,000 students.

UHV was founded in 1971 as Victoria College, a two-year community college. In 1973, the college became a four-year institution and was renamed Victoria University. In 1979, the university became part of the University of Houston System. In 1991, the university was renamed the University of Houston-Victoria.

The university is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges. The university's nursing program is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education.

UHV is a member of the American Association of State Colleges and Universities, the Association of Texas Colleges and Universities, and the Council of Public Liberal Arts Colleges.
