The University of Hawaii at Hilo is a public university in Hilo, Hawaii. It is one of ten campuses of the University of Hawaii system. The University of Hawaii at Hilo is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. The university offers bachelor's and master's degrees in a variety of disciplines.

The University of Hawaii at Hilo was founded in 1947 as Hawaii Vocational School. The school was established to provide training in agriculture, forestry, and home economics. In 1955, the school became Hawaii Community College. In 1970, the college was renamed Hawaii Technical Institute. In 1974, the institute became a four-year college and was renamed Hawaii Community College at Hilo. In 1979, the college was granted university status and renamed the University of Hawaii at Hilo.

The University of Hawaii at Hilo is located on the Big Island of Hawaii. The university's main campus is situated on 160 acres of land overlooking Hilo Bay. The campus is home to a variety of academic and administrative buildings, including the Student Services Center, the Library, and the Science and Technology Building.
