The University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH) is a public research university in Huntsville, Alabama, United States. It is part of the University of Alabama System. UAH was founded in 1950 as Huntsville College, a two-year college. In 1961, the college became a four-year institution and joined the University of Alabama System in 1969.

UAH offers more than 80 undergraduate and graduate degree programs in the arts, humanities, business, nursing, education, sciences, engineering, and computing. The school's research is focused on science and engineering. UAH is a member of the Space Grant Consortium and the National Space Science Technology Center. The school has a cooperative agreement with NASA and is a lead institution in the development of the Marshall Space Flight Center.

UAH is ranked among the nation's "Best National Universities" by U.S. News & World Report and is ranked as a "Top Public School" by The Princeton Review. The university's undergraduate engineering program is ranked 85th among public universities by U.S. News & World Report.
