The United States Coast Guard Academy (USCGA) is the military academy of the United States Coast Guard, founded in 1876 and located in New London, Connecticut. It is the smallest of the five federal service academies and provides education to future Coast Guard officers in one of eight major fields of study. Unlike the other service academies, admission to the USCGA does not require a congressional nomination. Students are admitted solely on the basis of merit and must serve at least five years of active duty after graduation.

The USCGA is one of the most selective of the service academies, with an acceptance rate of only about 8%. The Academy offers a bachelor of science degree in eight different majors, and all students must participate in the Academy's rigorous physical education program. Upon graduation, Coast Guard officers serve a minimum of five years on active duty. The USCGA is also one of the few service academies to offer a two-year postgraduate degree program.

The USCGA's campus is located on the Thames River in New London, Connecticut. The campus is home to several historic buildings, including the Cadet Chapel, which is the largest chapel of any of the service academies. The Academy grounds also include a parade ground, athletic fields, and several monuments. The USCGA Museum is located on campus and is open to the public.

The USCGA is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges. The Academy's curriculum is divided into five areas of study: academics, professional development, military training, physical education, and character development. The academic program at the USCGA is rigorous, and students are required to take courses in mathematics, science, engineering, and the humanities. The professional development program includes courses in leadership, ethics, and law. The military training program provides students with the opportunity to learn about the Coast Guard's missions and operations. The physical education program is designed to challenge students physically and develop their teamwork skills. The character development program instills the Coast Guard's core values of honor, respect, and devotion to duty in students.

Upon graduation, Coast Guard officers serve a minimum of five years on active duty. They may serve in a variety of roles, including as aviators, engineers, lawyers, medical officers, and rescue specialists. Coast Guard officers can also serve in the reserves and the National Guard.
