The University of Tennessee-Chattanooga (UTC) is a public university located in Chattanooga, Tennessee. The university is a member of the Tennessee Board of Regents system and is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. UTC offers bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees in over 140 areas of study. The university's athletic teams, known as the Chattanooga Mocs, compete in the NCAA Division I Southern Conference.

UTC was founded in 1886 as Chattanooga University, and was renamed the University of Chattanooga in 1907. The university merged with nearby Sewanee: The University of the South in 1969, and became known as the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. The university has an enrollment of over 11,000 students.

The university is home to a number of notable alumni, including former Tennessee governor and U.S. senator Lamar Alexander, former Chattanooga mayor Ron Littlefield, and country music singer Kenny Chesney.
