Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) is a public research university in Laredo, Texas. It is a member of the Texas A&M University System. The university offers more than 70 undergraduate and graduate programs in a variety of disciplines.

TAMIU was founded in 1969 as Laredo Junior College. It became a four-year institution in 1986 and was renamed Texas A&M International University in 1993. The university has an enrollment of over 7,000 students.

TAMIU is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges. The university’s programs in business, education, and nursing are accredited by national professional organizations.

The university is divided into six colleges: the College of Arts and Sciences, the A. R. Sanchez, Jr. School of Business, the College of Education, the College of Nursing and Health Sciences, the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences, and the Honors College.

TAMIU’s campus covers 300 acres and includes over 50 buildings. The campus is home to the TAMIU Planetarium, the TAMIU Birding Center, and the TAMIU Observatory.

The university offers a variety of student organizations and clubs, as well as intramural and varsity sports teams. TAMIU is also home to the Texas A&M International University Press, which publishes scholarly books and journals.
