Admission Requirements
State College of Florida-Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) is a public college in Bradenton, Florida. It is part of the Florida College System and offers associate and baccalaureate degrees. SCF is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges.
Admission to SCF is open to all students who have a high school diploma or equivalent. However, some programs may have additional admission requirements. For example, the nursing program requires applicants to take a pre-admission exam and complete a background check.
SCF has an open-admission policy for most programs, meaning that students who meet the minimum requirements will be accepted into the program. However, some programs may have selective admission, meaning that students must meet additional criteria in order to be considered for admission. For example, the Honors College has a selective admissions process that includes an essay and an interview.
Once students have been accepted to SCF, they must complete a New Student Orientation in order to register for classes. During orientation, students will learn about SCF policies and procedures, and they will have the opportunity to meet with an academic advisor to plan their course of study.
