Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (SWBTS) is a private, non-profit institution of higher education located in Fort Worth, Texas. It was established in 1908 by the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) and is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees. The seminary's mission is to "train men and women for Christian service and leadership throughout the world."

SWBTS offers over 80 academic programs and awards degrees at the undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral levels. The seminary's main campus is located on a 200-acre (81 ha) site in Fort Worth's Cultural District, and includes 11 academic buildings, a library, a student center, and a chapel. The seminary also operates a number of extension campuses and educational centers across the United States, as well as an online learning platform.

Enrollment at SWBTS consists of approximately 2,500 students from more than 40 states and 40 countries. The seminary is led by President Adam W. Greenway, who assumed office in 2017.

SWBTS was founded in 1908 by the SBC in order to train men for ministry in the rapidly growing number of Baptist churches in the southwestern United States. The seminary's first president, B. H. Carroll, was a leading figure in the SBC's "conservative resurgence" of the early 20th century. Under Carroll's leadership, the seminary experienced rapid growth, becoming one of the largest seminaries in the world by the mid-20th century.

In the latter part of the 20th century, SWBTS was at the center of a number of controversies, including the so-called "Battle for the Bible" and the "Fundamentalist-Moderate Controversy." In recent years, the seminary has sought to distance itself from these controversies and to refocus on its core mission of training men and women for Christian service and leadership.

Today, SWBTS is a leading institution of higher education for Baptists in the United States and around the world. The seminary offers a wide range of academic programs and degrees that equip students for ministry in a variety of contexts. In addition to its main campus in Fort Worth, the seminary operates a number of extension campuses and educational centers across the United States, as well as an online learning platform.
