Southwest University at El Paso is a public university located in El Paso, Texas. It is a member of the Texas State University System and one of the four comprehensive universities in the system. The university offers bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees in a variety of disciplines.

The university was founded in 1873 as the El Paso branch of the University of Texas. The university was originally housed in the Old Main building, which is now a National Historic Landmark. In 1933, the university became a part of the Texas State University System. In 1974, the university was renamed Southwest Texas State University. The university's name was changed again in 1999, to its current name of Southwest University at El Paso.

The university is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. The university's athletic teams compete in the NCAA Division I. The university is home to the Kinesiology and Health Science Center, which is the only such center in the world.

The university enrolls over 20,000 students. The student body is diverse, with students from all over the world. The university is committed to providing a quality education to all of its students.
