Southeast Missouri State University is a public university located in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, United States. The school was founded in 1873 as a normal school, making it the second oldest public university in the state of Missouri. The school is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. The school enrolls over 11,000 students from over 50 countries and all 50 states. The school offers over 200 undergraduate and graduate programs. The school is divided into 5 colleges: the College of Arts and Sciences, the College of Business, the College of Education, the College of Health and Human Services, and the College of Nursing and Allied Health. The school also has a Graduate School. The school's athletic teams are known as the Redhawks and compete in the NCAA Division I. The school's mascot is Rowdy the Redhawk.
